The MFIC Leaders from eight countries gathered in Larne, Northern Ireland to further the future directions of the 2017 General Chapter.
Sr Joyce was born in Newcastle. She was the eldest child and had 3 brothers and 3 sisters. On leaving school Joyce became active in the Grail where she was recognised as a leader. Joyce soon outgrew the Grail and searched for a Missionary Congregation
This is a bittersweet moment in the unfolding of the journey of the Missionary Franciscan Sisters. After 58 years of sponsoring Mt Alvernia College in the Franciscan tradition, the Sisters entrust her to Mercy Partners.

Sr Mary Raymond mfic (Jeanette O’Brien) slipped from life today aged 105 years. Sr Ray, as she was affectionately known, passed away at Allambe, Nudgee, where she has lived for the previous two years. May she rest in peace.
Sr Ursula Wilson mfic, previously Sr Mary Dolores, has died at the Holy Spirit Home, Carseldine.
At the 21st General Chapter held in Larne, N. Ireland a new General Leadership Team was elected to serve the Institute of Missionary Franciscan Sisters for the next 5 years.
