Meritorious Service Award
Sister Liz was born in Brisbane and after completing her teacher training ministered in our schools in Queensland, but since undertaking cross cultural immersion and training for pastoral ministry in the Philippines in 1973 she has moved far from home ministering to the Aboriginal people of Australia, in the Diocese of Molfetta, Terlizzi, Ruvo and Giovenazzo in Southern Italy under Bishop Don Tonino Bello and as Chaplain to this community of Italian people in Victoria.

In
appreciation of her twelve years of service to the Italian Community
of the Sale Diocese, Mr Damiano Tripoli nominated Sr Elizabeth Roberts
for a Meritorious Service Award. This Award for Excellence in Multicultural
Affairs, granted by the Government of Victoria, was presented during
a function at Government House on 26 November 2007.
