The leadership teams of Australia and Papua New Guinea took six days off usually busy schedules to meet at The Archer at Villeneuve, near Woodford, in South east Queensland.

Celebrating the Sisters of Charity in Australia

The Sisters of Charity were the first religious sisters to arrive in Australia 175 years ago. We celebrate this milestone for them, and for all religious men and women in Australia. Congratulations to all the Sisters of Charity and many blessings!

Sisters gather to begin the year of Chapter activities.

About twenty sisters gathered with facilitator Monica Cavanagh RSJ on Saturday and Sunday to begin preparations for hte 2014 Chapter of the Sisters. This year will be an election year.

Mt Alvernia Alumnae celebrate remarkable women

On 6th March Mt Alvernia celebrated the lives of twelve alumnae. Included in the twelve was past student St Catherine White. The eleven additional alumnae spanned the years from 1972 to 2007.

Farewell to Aspley House

A number of Sisters gathered at the Aspley house on Sunday to say goodbye to the house we have lived in, and the beautiful gardens we have enjoyed for 25 five years.

PNG pioneer on last journey

Sr M Rose Wooden (Claire) died this week after a long illness. She was 90. Sr M Rose was among the first group of Sisters to leave Australia for Papua New Guinea in 1949. She served there for 48 years. May she rest in peace.
