What do I do?
I am an Energy Therapist working through Reflexology and Healing Touch.
Where do I carry out my ministry?
At Clare Place which is a part of our Convent in Kedron.
What values underpin my ministry?
Forms of therapy that require touch and massage have been aptly referred
to as the “Art of Anointing”. I am deeply conscious of the
times Jesus healed through touch. He attended to the sick with compassion,
placing his hands upon them, setting them free from what bound them.
His ministry, stated in his reading in the synagogue from Isaiah 61,
was to set people free. Free from whatever
chained them which meant to heal, to make whole.
Every person carries scars from life that impoverish their relational living
and their human freedom. Many individuals are “imprisoned” by fear,
bitterness, past or present abuse, unresolved conflicts, tensions and stress
which not only prevent their achieving their full potential physically, mentally
and spiritually, but also, not infrequently, are basic to serious ill-health
and dis-ease.
Jesus touched to heal. Francis kissed the leper – he felt called
to touch him and through that touch Francis himself was healed. Clare
was a healer: Francis came to her when he needed special care for his
eyes. I too want to share, in some small way, in the healing and liberating
mission of Jesus through touch. As each day passes I become more deeply
convinced of the power of touch – a bridge across which healing
can pass. My intention at the beginning of each treatment is to bring Wholeness as
well as Peace and all Good.
